Hi everyone,
Last Sunday the new faster Awakening of the Dark galaxy launched with a bang!
Have you played in the new galaxy yet? Let us know what you think on the forum after you have. We’ve seen some fantastic feedback already from players that are enjoying the new game mode. Why not try it and see for yourself?
A massive new patch was also released alongside the new galaxy, and this week the devs have already pushed out two more patches to address a couple of issues that came up after adding all that new content.
Let’s see how things stand after the first week of the new ‘Awaken the Dark’ galaxy…

For the first time we have a ‘Grand Emperor Master of Warfare’ – Rae. Congratulations Rae!
Rae’s Master of Warfare lead is pretty solid right now. But the Grand Emperor title looks like it’s going to be hotly contested over the next week with a strong chasing pack. Will anyone be able to push Rae off the throne or is this the beginning of an epoch, like with Rislem in the Main 2 galaxy?
So far we’re not seeing the same Syntis dominance as we saw in Main 2. The Ripchee look to be edging it right now and it’s great to see the Snithereal represented on both leaderboards this time around. But where are Mankind?
Galactic Expansion

Colonies | 2,529 |
Fleets | 2,161 |
Minefields | 2 |
The colony map above shows the new dynamically generated galaxy we’re testing for Awaken the Dark in action. This galaxy is incrementally expanded as new players spawn in, which is why we don’t see colonies spread out everywhere.
Dynamically generating the galaxy is great for guaranteeing new players plenty of space away from older players – but not so great to look at 🙂 In future we’ll probably zoom in over the colonized area and overlay battle activity based on the size and power of the fleets involved so it will be possible to see the significant conflict zones.

Civ choice looks very similar to what we saw in Main 2. Syntis and Snithereal again the most and least popular.
The player averages after one week are interesting. Credits and tech are piling up. But the number of colonies and fleets looks quite economical. Which could indicate that more ships are being concentrated into larger powerful fleets?

Alliances were added to all galaxies last week. You can access alliance features from the diplomacy tab on the main menu or check out the wiki for a quick overview right now.
Almost 40% of players have already taken up the opportunity to join an alliance. And there are many more smaller alliances than have been listed here (only alliances with more than 5 players were listed).
Why not create your own alliance and invite your friends to join and play alongside you?

Speeds are at least 10x faster in the Awaken the Dark galaxy compared to other galaxies. But technology research speeds were increased even more than this!
And you can see this very clearly here already. The ‘Most Difficult’ tech is already getting researched! It took many weeks in previous galaxies before any player progressed deep enough in to the tech tree to acquire one of these hugely powerful technologies.
How much of this newly acquired technology is going to be deployed over the next week? Will an enemy dreadnought come rumbling through your territory any time soon?
That’s it for this week, we’ll be back with more soon 🙂
