Happy New Year! We wanted to give you an outline on what we will be building in Q1 and hence what you can expect to be incrementally layered into Outscape, as well as an update on the findings from the recent mini survey.
A huge thanks to all of you who completed the mini-survey we sent out over the holiday period! We’re excited to announce that a new ‘Alpha 3’ galaxy will launch TOMORROW (Friday December 7th) at 16:00 UTC – finally!
Existing Alpha players
A new patch will be released at this time – existing Alpha players will then see the new ‘Alpha 3’ galaxy in the game selection list ready to join (in addition to the ongoing Alpha 2 galaxy).

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our Developer Diary!
The long-awaited update 0.84 came out this week which included features like merging/splitting fleets and attack and return. A lot of other features and changes the devs finished aren’t active yet – but they’re ready to go with the launch of the next galaxy!
You can check up on the progress of the roadmap here. There are still things to do, ships to paint, balancing to get right and asteroids to shoot, but we are fast approaching the finish line and a lot of the tasks outstanding aren’t too intensive 🙂

Hello everyone and welcome back.
Last Sunday we announced that the game was changing its name to Outscape! We started on the changeover right away and managed to get the bulk of it done this week. There’s still a few bits to do, such as releasing the new patch with the new name/logo changes…
Most of the team continued working on the game during the changeover. Which was lucky, because despite all of the team being excited about the new name, the actual process of changing names is many times less fun than actually working on the game 🙂

Hello again 🙂 And welcome to our weekly Developer diaries.
It’s pretty hectic in the office right now. The team is busy getting the features finished for the new galaxy, preparing the end game challenge for the current Alpha galaxy (details to follow soon in another post) and readying the next patch.
Fleet merging and splitting is ready for the next patch and something worth taking a look at in this post. We had to spend a fair bit of design time on it as the current way of doing things has been frustrating both new and old players alike![Read more…]
Hello friends! And welcome back to our weekly developer diary.
We’re still working on both the next patch and getting the game ready to launch a second galaxy – but doing so hasn’t been without its difficulties.
The improved galaxy/environment generation has taken a little longer than expected, but the upside is as part of the next update some of your planets may have a new look 🙂 We hope/expect the next patch will go live in a week.
Work on the new player profiles and leaderboards is progressing well and they should be ready within the next few weeks. In the meantime, we thought as part of today’s post it would be interesting to take a closer look at how players are profiled in general.[Read more…]
