Beyond Dark is changing its name to Outscape!

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce that Beyond Dark is changing its name to Outscape! The changeover will begin right away and should be done within a couple of days.

Why are we changing the name?

We chose the name Beyond Dark very early in the game’s development. Not long ago we wanted to test how well it – and some other ideas we’d had – would be received.

It turned out that although the name Beyond Dark performed well in some regions, it didn’t do as well as we’d hoped for in others, while Outscape performed well across all regions. So we decided if we were going to change the name it had to be now because after release wasn’t an option!

Outscape is an awesome fit!

The new name may take some getting used to for some of you 🙂 We’re very happy with it, think Outscape is an awesome name and suits the genre and type of game perfectly. We can’t wait to release it!

What happens next?

• The website, forum and wiki will move across to outscape.net, forum.outscape.net and wiki.outscape.net (once moved, the old sites will automatically redirect there).
• For Alpha players on Steam the game will automatically rename in your library. There will be a small update at some point which will contain the new logo/text changes, but you won’t need a new key or to download a separate game.
• Our existing social media pages e.g. Facebook and Twitter will be renamed and may get new page urls, but you shouldn’t have any issues accessing these pages through the sites themselves if you have liked/follow us (unless you use a bookmark to the previous urls).

Let us know if we miss anything

The transition should be fairly seamless, but there’s always a chance we miss something along the way. If you do come across an issue, please let us know in the forum or our contact form. We’ll also post to the forum if there’s any complication.

Your patience and understanding with the name change is much appreciated. We’ll let you know when we’re done, and will be back soon with more news!
